  • Copper nanodisks (Cu NDs) of 50 nm were prepared on square-inch anodic aluminum oxide substrates by sputtering method. The samples were annealed at 450oC, then the walls of AAO substrates were lift off in a solution of acid phosphoric. The 2D arrays of Cu NDs were fabricated in high quality. Morphology of the substrates were observed by scanning electron microscopy. Surface plasmon resonance absorption was observed with different peaks in the range of 400-1400nm wavelengths that means the substrate is promising for SERS application. To demonstrate, we observed Raman spectrum of Rhodamine 6G using the enhancement effect of the substrate.

  • Land use change has been assessed widely using Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) techniques. The analysis of land use change was done by detecting land cover change. A study about land cover change, along with the self-employed workers’ perception towards changes between 2007 and 2017 were carried out in Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi, Vietnam. The result of the study shows that the built-up lands have increased and remained to be the dominant land cover types in 2017. The agriculture has been declining mainly due to conversion into built-up land. Other land type including water, bare land, and vegetation have shown slight changes throughout the years. Overall c...

  • In this paper, an electrocoagulation reactor was set up to investigate the ammonium removal in Nam Son landfill leachate. The research focused on studying several factors that affect to the ammonium removal namely current intensity, operating time, initial pH and electrode materials. Mono-polar electrocoagulation reactor was conducted in a batch system with iron electrodes and 1.8 L leachate. The research indicated that current intensity and operating time are directly proportional with NH4+ treatment performance. When applied current increased from 1 to 4A, the NH4+ removal percentage went up from 14.03 to 24.99% after a 1 hour treatment. The effect of initial pH in range of 5 to 10 ...

  • One of the most recent applications that enable consumers to make online purchases using their mobile devices is mobile wallet. In the context of Vietnam, this study aims to empirically analyse the factors that affect consumer’s intention to use and behaviour frequency of mobile wallets. A total of 182 questionnaires that were collected from mobile wallet users were evaluated using Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). As a consequence of this, 8 of the 9 study hypotheses were approved. The findings indicate that the promotional benefit has no direct effect on the intention to use. However, the effect of promotional benefit on intention to use is mediat...

  • This study attempts to present what the authors have experienced and applied in fostering learner autonomy in Country Studies (namely British and American Studies) at Faculty of English, Hanoi National University of Education. Starting with some main definitions about learner autonomy and its conditions, and basing on authors’ own experience and belief, the authors discuss four main strategies used in teaching and learning Country Studies. The first is designing an appropriate syllabus to help the learners acquire a very clear overview about the main content of the subject, the objectives, the requirements, the evaluation of the program, and the references which all later encourage th...
