  • Chemical composition of essential oils obtained from the leaf of Litsea lancilimba were reported. The analysis was performed by means of gas chromatography-flame ionization detector (GC-FID) and gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Thirty four components were identified in leaf oil of Litsea lancilimba, which represented about 90.8% of the total composition of the oil. The major constituents of the essential oil were benzaldehyde (52.0%), 1-ethyl-4-methoxybenzene (14.6%), β-caryophyllene (5.4%) and δ-cadinene (4.6%).
