  • ZnO doped with different concentrations (2, 4, 6, 8 and 10%) of ceria was synthesized by the conventional solidestate reaction method.   • gama-MnS/reduced graphene oxide composites (g-MnS/rGO) were successfully synthesized by a simple one pot solvothermal route. Their structure, morphology and electrochemical properties were studied with respect to applications as a supercapacitor electrode material. The specific capacity ofg-MnS/rGO is 1009 C/g at 1 A/g and retains 82% of initial capacity over 2000 cycles at 2 A/g whereas pristineg-MnS delivers only 480 C/g at 1 A/g with a capacity retention of 64%. Thus,g-MnS/rGO proves to be a promising electrode material, which exhibits high the specific capacity and stable long cycle life.

  • Bottom gate, top contact Organic Field Effect Transistors (OFETs) were fabricated using copper phthalocy-anine (CuPc) as an active layer. The electrical properties of OFETs fabricated with CuPc annealed at different annealing temperatures and different channel length to width (L/W) ratios were studied. The transfer characteristics of the devices appear to improve with annealing temperature of CuPc and increasing L/W ratios of the devices.   • We experimentally investigate the carrier transport in back-gated graphene ribbons. The ribbons are monolayer graphene formed by the chemical vapor deposition process and transferred on the SiO2/Si substrate. Electrical measurements show that two categories of electrical behavior are distinguished, respectively, linear and nonlinear.   • Freeze-dried bacterial cellulose and polyvinyl alcohol were successfully prepared. The weight ratios of polyvinyl alcohol to bacterial cellulose were set at 3:1, 5:1 and 10:1. With bacterial cellulose present in the polyvinyl alcohol matrix, H-bonds formed along the cross-linked hydrogel network. The freeze-dried hydrogel presented good compatibility. The plasmonic characteristics of these nanocomposites are highly sensitive to the Ag concentration in thefilms.   • gama-MnS/reduced graphene oxide composites (g-MnS/rGO) were successfully synthesized by a simple one pot solvothermal route. Their structure, morphology and electrochemical properties were studied with respect to applications as a supercapacitor electrode material. The specific capacity ofg-MnS/rGO is 1009 C/g at 1 A/g and retains 82% of initial capacity over 2000 cycles at 2 A/g whereas pristineg-MnS delivers only 480 C/g at 1 A/g with a capacity retention of 64%. Thus,g-MnS/rGO proves to be a promising electrode material, which exhibits high the specific capacity and stable long cycle life.

  • Bottom gate, top contact Organic Field Effect Transistors (OFETs) were fabricated using copper phthalocy-anine (CuPc) as an active layer. The electrical properties of OFETs fabricated with CuPc annealed at different annealing temperatures and different channel length to width (L/W) ratios were studied. The transfer characteristics of the devices appear to improve with annealing temperature of CuPc and increasing L/W ratios of the devices. Upon annealing, the field effect mobility increased from 0.03±0.004 cm2/V to 1.3±0.02 cm2/V.   • We experimentally investigate the carrier transport in back-gated graphene ribbons. The ribbons are monolayer graphene formed by the chemical vapor deposition process and transferred on the SiO2/Si substrate. Electrical measurements show that two categories of electrical behavior are distinguished, respectively, linear and nonlinear.   • Freeze-dried bacterial cellulose and polyvinyl alcohol were successfully prepared. The weight ratios of polyvinyl alcohol to bacterial cellulose were set at 3:1, 5:1 and 10:1. With bacterial cellulose present in the polyvinyl alcohol matrix, H-bonds formed along the cross-linked hydrogel network. The freeze-dried hydrogel presented good compatibility.
