  • The article introduces an overview of some national and international geographical titles that have been given to certain Vietnamese marine areas. The awarding of these titles particularly Vietnam's sea areas, has been very helpful for Vietnam. In particular, the granting of international titles by UNESCO to areas on the coast and at sea, such as Ha Long Bay, Phong Nha - Ke Bang and My Son, has had the effect of bringing about great economic development. Regarding the various kinds of titles, the most common international title granted is that of ‘World Biosphere Reserve’, awarded to six sites, followed by ‘World's Most Beautiful Bay’ for three sites, and then two World Heritage sites.   • Environmental mainstreaming is the informed inclusion of relevant environmental concerns and issues into plans, policy process, and actions of different sectors at different levels. In reality, only if people take into consideration and solve environmental issues are people facing environmental consequences.   • Over the past several years, the use of urban water in Thua Thien Hue Province has dramatically augmented due to various reasons such as a rapidly increased number of users, recent prolonged droughts, expansion of provincial urban water supply networks, and so on. Prediction of urban water demand till 2020 conducted on the basis of per capita method in conjunction with extrapolation method shows that there will be a big challenge for HUEWACO to meet a double demand (320.000 m3/day) between now and 2020.
