  • The research aims at giving an overview and evaluation of the current status of the vocational training in Vietnam for persons with disabilities and especially for women 6 with disabilities. From the analysis, the paper will then propose suitable policy implications to improve the vocational training for the WWDs and contribute to enhancing the ability to integrate with the society of women with disabilities.

  • Vietnam is one of the countries that have the highest numbers of persons with disabilities (PWDs). According to the 2009 Census there are approximately 6.1 million PWDs accounting for 7.8% of Vietnamese population. Research has shown that the number of PWDs who attend higher education in Vietnam is extremely low and only 0.1% of PWDs has completed a bachelor program at higher education level. The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of the status of PWDs in Vietnam as well as analyse the country’s legal framework and policies governing PWDs.   • The significant increasing rate of Municipal household waste (MHSW) in quantity alongside with the improper waste management has caused serious environmental degradation and health hazard in Vietnam. Unless, the waste generation is reduced significantly, the amount of waste will keep growing associated by a series of problems. The 3Rs principles (reduce, reuse, recycle) would be the answer to this problem, in which waste separation plays as a key practice.   • This paper investigates the impact of capital structure on firm performance using a sample of 3,122 observations of 446 non-financial listed companies on the Vietnam stock market during 2011-2017. Using firm performance measures, namely ROE and Tobin Q, we examined if higher leveraged firms are more efficient or less in their performance. We employed the fixed effect model to prove that there is an inverse U-shaped relationship between leverage and ROE, and then we can find a preferred capital structure for Vietnam non-financial firms.
