  • The TbTSn compounds (T = Pt, Rh) have been prepared by arc-melting in purified Ar atmosphere. Crystal structures were studied by X-ray powder diffraction. The Rietveld analysis shows the single phase in hexagonal ZrNiAl-type structure for TbPtSn and TbRhSn compounds. Magnetic properties and specific heat measured by mean of Physical Properties Measurement System (PPMS) demonstrated the phase magnetic transition at Néel temperature TN.

  • Effect of K substitutions on structural and superconducting properties in Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O (BPSCCO) system has been investigated. Bulk Bi1.6Pb0.4Sr2-xKxCa2Cu3O10+d (where x = 0.00; 0.04; 0.08 and 0.1) samples were fabricated by using the solid-state reaction method. Structural properties of the samples were examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) measurement.   • The deposition of Copper-Selenium thin films was studied by using a combination of Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) and Electrochemical Quartz Crystal Microbalance (EQCM). The values of the equivalent atomic mass (M/z) grown at the gold EQCM sensor during electrodeposition at varying potentials and constant potentials were analyzed to understand the mechanism of the growing process. The composition of the films determined by EDS supports the assumption of the deposition process which is based on the EQCM studies.   • Ni50-xCoxMn50-yAly(x=7 and 9; y=17, 18 and 19) alloy ribbons were prepared by melt-spinning with a tangential velocity of copper wheel of 40 m s-1. X-ray diffraction patterns reveal multi-crystalline phase behavior in the fabricated ribbons. The shape of thermomagnetization curves clearly depends on Co and Al concentrations. The Curie temperatures (TC) of the alloy ribbons strongly increase with increasing the Co concentration and slightly decrease with increasing the Al concentration.   • The saturated magnetization in 20% substituted La0.8R0.2(Fe0.88Si0.12)13 (R = Sm, Tb) magneto-caloric alloys is discussed in this work. The measurements were taken up to 70 kOe (7 Tesla) to detect the saturation of magnetic moments. As reported recently [Mat. Trans. 59(7) (2018) 1068], these compounds show a large variation of magnetic entropies at low field variation (~ 1.5 T), which associate with the large relative cooling efficiency (RCP) of 52 (for Tb-doped) and 102 J/kg (for Sm-doped) even at low effective DH of ~ 15 kOe. It has been found that sulfamic acid does not affect the deposition of Cu in the absent of Se. However, when Cu and Se are simultaneously, sulfamic acid was found to affect strongly the formation of Cu-Se compounds, namely it causes and facilitates the reactions forming Cu-Se compounds. Furthermore, at high concentration, sulfamic acid causes a mass-loss process, leading to a change of composition and a poor surface morphology.   • The crystal structure and thermoelectric properties of La(Fe1-xSix)13 compounds were investigated by means of X-ray powder diffraction and electrical resistivity, thermopower and thermal conductivity measuarements. The single NaZn13-type cubic structure phase is stabilized for the compounds with x=0.12, 0.14 and 0.15. These magnetic phase transitions are also seen in the electrical resistivity, thermopower and thermal conductivity measurements. All compounds have the small values of thermopower and lattice conductivity. However, thermal conductivity is large.
