  • Zn/Cr layered zinc hydroxide materials with different molar ratios of Cr/Zn have been synthesized through the coprecipitation method at pH of 9.0e9.5. At high Cr/Zn molar ratios of 0.5/1e1/3, the ma-terials possess some layered structure with carbonate anions between the interlayer galleries. The cat-alysts present uniform particle sizes and quite high surface area. An isomorphous substitution of Zn 2þ by Cr 3þ in the brucite-like sheets makes the layered Cr-doped zinc hydroxides acting as catalysts for efficient oxidation of rhodamine B with H2O2solution.
