  • Waste water from industrial sites amounts to one third of total waste water discharged into To Lich ri ver, and may have serious effects on the river water quality. With the total amount waste water of fact ories (Hanoi beer alcohol and beverage joint stock corporation (HABECO), Trang An JSC and Thuong Dinh industrial park) of 45,000m 3 /day , these factories accounts for more than a half of total industrial waste water released into To Lich ri ver. The analytic results of water samples taken from To Li ch river show that the parameters of DO, COD, BOD5, TSS, NH4 + , NO2 -and coliform exceed the Viet...

  • Research on chromium removal in water by modified bentonite.pdf.jpg
  • Article

  • Authors: Tran, Van Son; Tran, Van Quy (2012)

  • This research was conducted to produce a new natural derivated material (bentonite), which can remove chromium from aquatic environment.Natural bentonite was activated by HCl acid, then by thermal factor at 1100 C. Results of SEM images show that spongy and surface area of modified bentonite larger than natural bentonite. Chromium adsorption ability on modified bentonite depends on pH of solution, and adsorptioncapacity is almost stable in the pH range from 3 to 6, then dramatically reduced from pH 6-11. Maximum chromium adsorption capacity of modified bentonite - B90at-2 (13,89 mgCr/g) was much more than natural bentonite - B90 (3,32 mgCr/g). The modified bentonite can be used for...
