  • This paper examines in-service teachers’ efficacy to teach English for specific purposes (ESP) by exploring their perceived challenges and how they approached the issues in teaching English for specific purposes in Vietnamese contexts. Interview data with twenty in-service English as foreign language (EFL) teachers at four educational institutions in Hanoi (Vietnam) revealed that although the teachers had different educational backgrounds, they thought they were in disadvantageous positions to teach ESP.
