  • A selective, simple and sensitive electrochemical sensor has been developed using pencil leads (pencil graphite electrode, PGE) for the investigation of chlorpromazine (CPZ). The cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) techniques were employed to study the anodic behaviour of CPZ. The bare PGE showed good electrocatalytic activity towards the determination of CPZ in comparison with alanine and glycine modified PGEs. The PGE showed a well enhanced peak current compared to alanine and glycine modified PGEs for the determination of CPZ.   • A combination of Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) and Electrochemical Quartz Crystal Microbalance (EQCM) has been used to study the effect of sulfamic acid as a complexing agent on the formation of Cu-Se compounds. It has been found that sulfamic acid does not affect the deposition of Cu in the absent of Se. However, when Cu and Se are simultaneously, sulfamic acid was found to affect strongly the formation of Cu-Se compounds, namely it causes and facilitates the reactions forming Cu-Se compounds. Furthermore, at high concentration, sulfamic acid causes a mass-loss process, leading to a change of composition and a poor surface morphology. The detailed analytical characterizations such as Powder X-Ray Diffraction (PXRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Fourier Transform-infrared Spectra (FTIR), etc. have been carried out for the obtained NPs.
