  • Fractional Frequency Reuse (FFR) is a promising to improve the spectrum e ciency in the LongTerm Evolution (LTE) cellular network. In the literature, various research works have been conducted to evaluate the performance of FFR. However, the presented analytical approach only dealt with the special cases in which the users are divided into 2 groups and only two power levels are utilised. In this paper, we consider a general case of FFR in which the users are classified into  groups and each group is assigned a serving power level. The mathematical model of the general FFR is presented and analysed through a stochastic geometry approach. The derived analytical results in terms of av...

  • The technology utilized in Energy harvesting from wireless channels of cellular communication is one of the critical aspects of future generation of cellular telecommunication, as it will be one of its alternatives for conserving power, by transmitting power to devices through the cellular networks. There have been numerous techniques that were proposed in 5G cellular technology for sustainability and enhancing the lifespan of centralized power sources in mobile and future IoT devices. Throughout this research paper, a literature review of the main current advancements of EH technology and SWIPT techniques will be presented as well as its achievements. An implementation of one of the ...

  • The demand of a faster and more secure wireless communication system leads to the development of a new and innovated network in future. Light Fidelity (Li-Fi) is being researched to provide a better wireless network communication. In this communication technology, light from Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) has been used for data transmission. The purpose of this research work is to investigate the performance of handover algorithms in a Li-Fi network. Two handover algorithms are Closest Access Point (AP) (CAP) and Maximum Channel Gain (MCG). MATLAB simulation results are presented to evaluate those two types of handover algorithms and to show the impacts of UE’s rotation and movement on...

  • In this paper, the Ultra Dense Network (UDN) using Strict Frequency Reuse (FR) is modelled according to the 3GPP recommendations. The recent developed stretch path loss model is utilised to replace the traditional one. The user performance expressions in terms of user classification probability and average coverage probability are derived in Rayleigh fading environment. Throughout the analytical results, which are verified by Monte Carlo simulation, the new findings are presented such as in deep fading environment, the received signal strength at the user keeps constant when the transmit power of Base Station (BS) varies; when the density of BSs increases, the Cell-Center User (CCU) perf...

  • In this paper, we study Ultra Dense Networks (UDN) in which the density of BSs is distributed with a density of up to 100 BS/km 2 . This paper utilizes the stretched path loss model which recently has been introduced as an appropriate model for short communications. We introduces a new approach to control the transmit power of the user in which the user's transmit power depends on the distance between the user and its associated Base Station (BS), signal power attenuation. The user performance metric in terms of average coverage probability is mathematically derived. The analytical results indicates that in the case of utilizing power control, increasing the transmit power and the den...
