  • 4-Aminothiophenol (4-ATP) functionalized silver nanoparticles and magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles were combined in a bi-functional nanocolloids which were covered by an approximately 5nm SiO2 layer by inverse emulsion method in order to apply to biomedicine. High saturated magnetization Ms indicated that the colloids are easy to be controlled by external magnetic field, while the characteristic Surface Enhanced Raman peak positions of 4-ATP absorbed on the metal particles were occurred without any alterations, which significantly predicted attractive applicability of the colloids for biomedical labeling.

  • Fe60Pt40 nanoparticles have been successfully prepared by sonochemistry method from the solution of Fe(C2H3O2)2 and H2PtCl6. The as-prepared sample then has been annealed at temperatures from 450oC to 650oC. Annealed samples have ordered L1o phase with face-centered tetragonal (fct) structure and show hard magnetic properties. The nanoparticles annealed at 550oC show highest coervicity of 4.36 kOe measured at room temperature. The annealed-temperature dependence of the coercivity is consistent with the appearance of the order phase L1o in the samples.

  • The main goal of the research is to fabricate a type of nanofibers using synthetic polymer materials, thanks to the development of a portable device using electrospinning technology. The survey and optimization of the device's parameters were performed, showing that the device works best in fiber spraying at the electric field condition used at 6.67 kV/cm along with a polymer solution with a concentration of about 15%. Two different polymers were used, Poly (lactic acid) and poly styrene, which were dissolved by dichloromethane solvent. In addition, cytotoxicity studies of fibrous membranes showed that there was no significant effect on the proliferation of human skin fibroblasts as w...

  • The aim of this study is to develop a kit for the extraction of DNA from formalin fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) tissues using silica-coated magnetic nanoparticles Fe3O4@SiO2 (MagSi nano) and suitable buffers. We selected the best version of synthesized MagSi nano (code M1) and optimised buffers including Lysis Buffer (code LB2) and Binding Buffer (code BB2) for extracting DNA from FFPE tissues with highest DNA recovery (84 - 103 ng/ml) and good purity (A260/A280 around 1.8 - 2.0). Using the MagPure FFPE DNA nano kit based on the selected MagSi nano and the optimised LB2 + BB2 buffers, we successfully performed extraction of DNA from FFPE tissues of colon and nasopharyngeal carcinoma ...

  • In this study, the fast DNA diagnostics was successfully developed using high fluorescent Mn doped ZnS nanoparticles and NH2-modified SiO2 coated Fe3O4 nanoparticles in a sandwich structure. In one end of the sandwich structure, we employed NH2-modified SiO2 coated Fe3O4 nanoparticles as a docking matrix. A so-called capture probe oligonucleotide chain, that specifically identifies the target DNA, linked to the docking magnetic particles. In the other end, other oligonucleotide chain – named detector probe – contacted with the signaling semiconductor particles. The complementary hybridization of the detector probe – target – capture probe formed the sandwich configuration that attache...

  • Magnetic memory effect was newly observed in hard magnetic FePd nanoparticles prepared by sonoelectrochemistry. The applied magnetic field was changed in defined protocols during the magnetic relaxation process and the magnetic memory effect occurs when the field changes are larger than the critical field change of around 25 Oe. This magnetic memory effect can be explained by the magnetic reversal processes in strong interaction systems. The width of the energy barrier distribution of these hard magnetic particles is related to the critical field change deduced from this study.

  • Magnetic memory effect was newly observed in spin-glass magnetic La0.6Sr0.4MnO3 perovskite nanoparticles prepared by sol-gel method. The applied magnetic field and the temperature were changed in defined protocols during the magnetic relaxation process and the magnetic memory effect occured at temperature below blocking temperature which is around room temperature. This magnetic memory effect can be explained by the energy distribution in comparison with strong interaction systems.

  • CoxPt100- x nanoparticles (x=50, 59, and 73) were prepared by the chemical reduction of Cobalt (II) chloride and Chloroplatinic acid, then ultrasonicated for 2 h. After annealing at various temperatures from 450 C to 700 C for 1 h, structure change was observed and samples show hard magnetic prop-erties which depend strongly on chemical composition and annealing temperature. The highest coer-civity value of 1.15 kOe was obtained at room temperature for sample with x =50 annealed at 500 C. Chemical reduction combined with ultrasound is a useful method to prepare CoPt nanoparticles

  • Mn-doped ZnS (ZnS/Mn) nanoparticles synthesized by sono-chemical co-precipitation are combined with ZnO nanoparticles synthesized by sol-gel method for application in two-barcode encryption. Nanoparticles are mixed together in different mass proportions of ZnO: ZnS/Mn respectively being 5: 1, 10: 1, 15: 1, 20: 1, 25: 1.30 : 1 and 35: 1, before being pressed in 1 cm diameter, 1 mm thick KBr pellets. The photoluminescence (PL) of the tablet shows that the mass proportion of two materials could be distinghuished by the proportion of the PL intensities at 515 nm and 600 nm, which promises potential manufacturing ability two-substant/two-barcode information storage systems for civil securi...

The TEM, XRD and DLS results ensure the morphology, crystal structure and diameter of these nanoparticles. Superparamagnetic properties of all samples were confirmed by VSM measurement. The cover of silica layer of MNPs and attachment of amine groups and gold nanoparticles can be proved by results from UV-VIS and FT-IR measurement. Some experiments have been performed to investigate and optimize the best condition of these reaction. Since MN...

The TSC molecules play very important role in inhibiting the growth of the ZnS particles. The mean size of the ZnS crystals which is estimated from the X-ray diffractions decreases from 1.7 nm to 1.4 nm when the added amount of the TSC increases. The lattice constant of the particles decreases from 5.40 Å to 5.38 Å and the band gap of the material increases from 3.92 eV to 4.74 eV. The particles are well dispersive in aqueous solution and emit blue light at around 430 nm while being excited by 320 nm ultraviolet light, which gu...
