  • The traditional Vietnamese fermented pickles are naturally produced in presence of a microbial community including lactic acid bacteria and other microbes. Lactic acid bacteria play important roles in vegetable fermentation, whereas some yeasts have contributions to aromatic formation. However, the fermented products are sometimes spoiled by contamination of unknown bacteria during fermentation. In this study, we isolated three bacterial strains including KG 2.2, KG 2.3 and KG 2.5 in which their growth causes spoilage of the fermented pickles with formation of white biofilm layers. On basis of morphological and biochemical characteristics, these bacterial strains belong to Bacillus ge...

  • Based on survey results of the United Nations for the three years 2015, 2017 and 2019, the paper analyzes the current situation of inclusive trade facilitation in Vietnam and compares it with other trade facilitation activities of Vietnam, and with inclusive trade facilitation of some regions in the world. The results show that Vietnam's inclusive trade facilitation is still progressing at a low level compared to other trade facilitation activities, but is much higher than the inclusive trade facilitation of APEC and other ASEAN countries. On those grounds, the article concludes that in order to facilitate inclusive trade, Vietnam should further promote measures to facilitate agricult...

  • Article

  • Authors: Nguyen, Thi Thanh Mai; Cassidy, John F. (2016)

  • It is widely acknowledged in international business(IB) studies that a host country can play a critical role in the strategic development of MNC subsidiaries. Thisstudy departs from the traditional embeddedness concept, which expresses the relationships between MNCs and the national context of host countries, and develops an integrative framework based on four different approaches: the transaction cost and internationalization approach; the resource-based view and micro-political approach; the network paradigm; and the approach of economic geographers. This integrative framework may be used in future research to provide a deeper analysis of the relationship between the multinationals...

  • Since the intense US-China trade war and the global outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, multinational companies’ tendency to diversify production activities and disperse their foreign direct investment (FDI) out of China became more visible. In this context, Vietnam has the opportunity to become a new global manufacturing hub. It remains to be seen whether Vietnam can attract that FDI inflow from multinational companies (MNCs) or not, especially in the context of unpredictable competition between many potential countries such as India, ASEAN countries and China who actively finds ways to retain foreign investors. The objectives of this article are to analyze the trend of relocating pro...
