This mixed-methods study assesses students' digital citizenship based on the five-factor S.A.F.E model perceived by teachers. It examines how and discusses why digital citizenship varies among students with different backgrounds and explores teachers' perspectives on teaching it. While most students and teachers generally agree on the importance and feasibility of digital citizenship education, there is a significant lack of understanding of the digital citizenship concept among those two groups. This research emphasizes the need for digital citizenship education and provides recommendations for various stakeholders.
