Fixed prosthodontics is the art and science of restoring damaged teeth with cast metal, metal-ceramic, or all-ceramic restorations and of replacing missing teeth with fixed prostheses using metal-ceramic artificial teeth (pontics) or metal-ceramic crowns over implants.
