Grammar teaching has been a topic of intense debate amongst researchers in the field of second language teaching. This paper reports a survey of teachers‟ opinions about the role and approaches to grammar instructions in a specific secondary school in Hanoi as well as their reported practice of grammar teaching in actual classrooms. In order to achieve this goal, this study collected both quantitative and qualitative data from questionnaire, semi-structured interview and observation notes.
