  • This research looks at two works of Poe, “The Black Cat and The Tell –Tale Heart”, and examines the idea of madness portrayed in the two main characters. The similarities and the differences are categorized into two catergories which are Irrationality and Extremity. Further, this paper intends to emphasize the significance of Poe’s works in Dark Romanticism literature as a reaction against Transcendentalism.
