  • The progress and outcomes of the Vietnam War are often said to be influenced by the role of conscientious objectors, those who withdrew completely or partially from serving in the armed forces on moral or religious grounds. While a common question posed to conscientious objectors is about their motivation, either sincere or opportunistic, this study takes a different approach.   • Polymorphic STR loci are extremely useful markers for human identification, paternity testing and DNA database construction. STR loci may be amplified via the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) by employing specific primer sequences identified in the regions flanking the tandem repeat. The multiplex PCR method produces at least two amplified DNA products from one reaction solution, and at least two pairs of primer are used. In this study, we had designed three primers pairs for three STR loci: F13A01, D8S1179 and HPRTB and combined with Amelogenin's primers (Promega) in one multiplex PCR.
