  • Grammatical and semantic features of some adjectives denoting happiness - the feeling of pleasure

  • The topic of happiness draws a lot of attention from different types of people. In fact, there are so many ways to express our happiness, one of which is employing words and idioms denoting happiness. In this article, the authors discuss five adjectives denoting happiness - the feeling of pleasure: “cheerful”, “gay”, “glad”, “merry” and “pleased” in terms of grammar and semantics. Their grammatical features include syntactic functions and morphological features, and the semantics includes lexical meaning, synonyms, antonyms, collocations and idioms of which these words are a component.   • Stand volume is one of important attributes in forest management and quantification of forest resource value. This studies tested solutions to estimate forest stand volume for the large area using SPOT 5 data and field data. Firstly, the forests were stratified into four 4 strata using Maximum likelihood supervised classification methods based on SPOT5 and field data. A set of 111 sample plots was distributed in these four forest strata which represented for disturbed forests under different levels by human induced for tropical forest in Tuy Duc district of Daknong province.   • In this article, we provide a simple method for growth of bulk single crystalline. By the control temperature along a vertical furnace, we can easily fabricate bulk single crystals. This technique is called the temperature gradient method. To create a temperature gradient along the body of the furnace, the density of resistance wire which is coiled along the body of furnace is different. The density increases from the bottom to the top of the furnace. So that, at any time of the growing process, the temperature at the bottom of furnace is the smallest.   • Zingiber mekongense Gagnep., which found in the Central Vietnam, is here reported as a new record for the flora of Vietnam. Voucher specimens collected in the Binh Thuan, Nghe An and Thanh Hoa provinces and deposited in the major herbaria: the herbarium of the Biology (Vinh University), HN, VNM. A detailed morphological description and a coloured photographs of this species along with data on distribution, ecology, phenology and notes to its allies are given.
