  • Amongst soft chemical synthetic routes, the ionothermal synthesis method (using an ionic liquid) has attracted research tremendously due to their remarkable features especially in the case of TiO2nano-particles synthesis. On the other hand, the significant role of TiO2 nanoparticles in the fields of photo-catalysis, photovoltaics, batteries etc. is noteworthy. Here, by considering these two remarkable aspects, TiO2 has been prepared by using an ionic liquid. The band gap of 3.2 eV has been determined through UV-Vis absorption spectra. The crystallite size was found to be 62 nm by PXRD. Additionally, TEM images have confirmed that the size of the particles is in the nanoscale. Furtherm...

  • ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized using esterases containedE. tirucalliplant latex as a fuel. The structural, morphological and spectroscopic studies of the as-synthesized ZnO nanoparticles were analyzed using powder X-ray Diffraction (PXRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), UVeVisible absorption and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. The structural parameters were refined by the Rietveld refinement method using PXRD data and confirmed that the prepared compound is pure hexagonal wurtzite structure with space group P63mc(No. 186). The average crystallite size was estimated by Scherrer's and WeH plots and found to be in the range 17-23 and 20-26 nm respectively. The b...

  • The present work reveals the green combustion preparation of the Ag-doped ZnO nanoparticles (NPs) using turmeric root extract as a fuel. The structure and morphology of Ag-doped ZnO NPs were investigated by several analytical techniques such as XRD (X-Ray Diffraction), SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy), TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy), FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared), Raman, XPS (XRay Photoelectron Spectroscopy), and UV-Visible Spectroscopy (UVeVis). From XRD, the crystallite size was found to be about 45 nm which agrees with the TEM results. SEM micrographs reveal the spherical shaped agglomerated particles. XPS measurement anticipates that Ag is mainly in the metallic stat...
