Three ballistoconidium-forming yeast strains, VY-60; VY-86 and VY-140, isolated from the wilting leaves in Cuc Phuong National Park in Vietnam, were assigned to the genus Bullera Derx based on morphological and chemotaxonomical characteristics. Based on the partial sequence analyses of of 18S rDNA, internal transcribed spacer regions (ITS) and Dl/D2 region of 26S rDNA, they were found to represent a new species. Bullera haininhensis is proposed for this species and VY-86T is chosen as the type strain of the species
