  • Cell enrichment and detection are crucial in various biomedical applications, ranging from early disease diagnosis to monitoring treatment effectiveness. This study introduces a novel microfluidic chip designed to improve the detection and handling of A549 lung cancer cells. The proposed microfluidic chip utilizes dielectrophoresis (DEP) along with impedance measurement using an interdigitated electrode (IDE) within a single microfluidic device. Additionally, a chemical interaction-based approach employing cell-targeted aptamers was integrated to enhance both the precision and efficiency of cell capture. The microelectrode structure was constructed from Indium-Tin-Oxide (ITO) materi...

  • The thesis has studied and proposed two microfluidic structures including fluidic chamber structure and microfluidic channel structure. The structure of the fluidic chamber is capable of manipulating, enriching, detecting and counting cancer cells. The microfluidic channel structure allows the count of lung cancer cells which pass through the microfluidic channel. Proposed structures are successfully designed and fabricated based on standard microfabrication technology. The operation of the proposed structure model has been successfully simulated and prototypes have been designed, fabricated and evaluated. The thesis has also successfully designed and fabricated electronic modules f...

  • This report focuses on two typical radar antennas, parabolic reflectors and arrays. Computations of the far-field radiation patterns and comparison are implemented. We concentrate on how to scan a focused beam and steering the antennas using some modern techniques such as linear phased array, array tapering and discrete Fourier transform DFT are also introduced.
