  • Via enrichment procedures carried out on a dioxin contaminated sediment sample from lotus pond at Danang airport, a microbial community assigned as DN553 with high capability of carbazol degradation was established. Analyses of community structure by using denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) of 16S rDNA fragments indicated that Achromobacter and Alcaligenes species dominated in this enrichment culture. In addition to carbazol, the enrichment culture was also able to utilize other PAH compounds such as naphthalene and phenanthrene as the only carbon and energy sources. In the presence of different PAH as growth substrates, the community structure changed accordingly, however...

  • This work investigates the effect of the ratio of the explored Pt area in the electrolyte medium and the photoanode area (REP) on the performance of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs). It is found that the power conversion efficiency of DSCs increases by the ascending REP. The highest power conversion efficiency, which was obtained for the cell with the REP of 64/49, was 8.40%. Furthermore, a relationship between the efficiency and fabrication cost is analyzed in terms of reducing or enhancing the surface area of CE compared to the photoanode's surface area. These findings may provide a way for the development of efficient and large-scale DSCs.

  • This study was aimed to develop a list of important drug- drug interactions (DDIs) at the Internal department – Kien An Hospital. Subjects and methods: This study was 3 phases: (1) The construction of the initiative list was based on consenous of the documentations from the list of drugs in Kien An hospital: Micromedex 2.0, the patient leaflets and Drug Interaction Fact 2014. (2) The research group reviewed all the in-patient medical records in the General internal department and Cardiology department and sorted the high-frequency DDIs with prevalance higher than 1%. (3) After the DDIs of the first list and the second list were assessed by a group of doctors and pharmacists who the pr...

  • This study aims to investigate factors affecting intention to use banking services in rural areas and suburbs of Hanoi. The study serves as a basis for the Commercial Banks to accurately assess the demand and expectation of the customers on the supplied service products, from which suggest directions to help the Banks develop services suitable with rural areas. The relationships in the model are analyzed with regression model. Results of the study shows that usefulness, usability, trust, innovation, social impact, communication about services are the six factors having positive relationships with the intention to use Banks’ services of the customers. Especially, customers’ trust and ...

  • To have a comprehensive assessment, many things need to be done. For nonEnglish majored students at Hanoi National University of Education (HNUE), they follow an ongoing assessment procedure throughout the semester. The study aims to investigate the procedure to figure out whether students are better at mastering English skills week by week. Key research methods include analyzing students’ results in weekly lessons, weekly online workbook results, speaking test and mid-term test for final assessment. Findings showed that ongoing assessment did them extremely good. In detail, they actively got involved in weekly activities in class and those who frequently did this obtained better resu...

  • Higher education plays critical role in providing human resources to society in all areas. Universities are thriving to carry out the test of training citizens to meet social needs; exploring science and technology, bringing scientific achievements into practice to serve the industrialization and modernization of the countries. However, our higher institutions have not accomplished all of these goals; we are preferring to focus on training generations of graduates with excellent results only in their academic performance, despite the increasing demands of enterprises in reality. This research studied the factors that influence the cohesion between universities and enterprises, thereby...

  • Bacterial community in dioxin contaminated soil and mud samples from Danang airport was enumerated and studied for their potential degradation capability against three-ring compound carbazol. The cell number was determined on nutrient rich medium and on mineral medium supplemented with carbazol. It has been showed that number of cells presented in mud samples was significantly higher than in soil samples, in the range of 1 magnitude order. About 50% of the total cell number in each sample grown on the medium with carbazol. Analyzing 12 representative strains selectively isolated on the carbazol containing medium by using the ARDRA method with two endonucleases HaeIII and MspI showed t...
