Motivation is a significant factor which can extremely influence the achievement of learners’ second language or foreign language acquisition. Finding out the learners’ motivation can help educationalists develop the best methods and make improvements to help the learner succeed. Based on these basis, this study was conducted with the participation of 50 Korean major second-year students who have the same psychological age and learning environment at University of Languages and International Studies, Vietnam National University. An investigation about their motivation to enroll in this major, their expectations and suggestions is also conducted with the aims of understanding their motivation and finding out the best methods to improve. In order to actualize this aim, the study has investigated students’ drive in learning Korean, the negative impacts on their learning experience as well as their favorite activities in the classroom. The results showed that Korean major second-year students at ULIS are still keeping and highly motivated to learn Korean with equally motivated instrumentally and integratively. Some expectations about motivation integrating into lessons were also stated. At the end of this study, some recommendations and suggestions for further research were also given.
